Fordite Necklace with Silver Granules
If you have any interest in the automotive industry or in recycling materials for unusual purposes then this fordite necklace is for you. Fordite, otherwise known as Detroit Agate, is the result of automotive paint overspray building up on the tracks that car frames are painted and transported on. The material is usually removed and discarded, but thankfully has been diverted from the landfill thanks to a few ingenious people who saw it as a beautiful piece of art, perfect to be shaped and put into jewelry. This piece is set in 100% sterling silver with a brushed, oxidized finish. The oval cable chain is 18" long and features a clasp as the closure. Pendant is 1 5/8" tall and nearly 1" wide.
Prior to being shipped all pieces are re-polished and stones are checked for tightness to ensure the piece is as perfect as possible when it arrives. Each piece is made from scratch by hand – no two will ever be alike.
I try to be as accurate with color as possible with both my camera and how they appear on screen. With that being said, no two computer monitors or phones are the same and the color may vary slightly from what you see on the screen to the product as viewed with your own eyes.
