Sterling Silver Oval Petoskey Necklace
This gorgeous oval Petoskey stone is set in sterling silver with a plain bezel. Set in sterling silver and polished to a shiny finish, it lives on an 18" sterling silver cable chain with clasp closure. It's a beautiful every day size, and you can keep this piece of the Mitten state close to your heart.
Petoskey is the state stone of Michigan, and the result of a type of coral that lived during the Devonian period (which sounds quite fancy and like it involves Jane Austen, but was much longer ago than that.) Petoskey features a six-sided pattern in the "eyes." It has been the state stone of Michigan since 1965, and is a treasured possession of many Michiganders, memories of family vacations gone by.
Prior to being shipped all pieces are re-polished and stones are checked for tightness to ensure the piece is as perfect as possible when it arrives. Each piece is made from scratch by hand – no two will ever be alike.
I try to be as accurate with color as possible with both my camera and how they appear on screen. With that being said, no two computer monitors or phones are the same and the color may vary slightly from what you see on the screen to the product as viewed with your own eyes.
Remove your jewelry when you're using cleaning products, bathing, or sweating. Utilize a polishing cloth to give your piece a shine now and again rather than using a liquid jewelry cleaner - they can remove the patina or discolor the stone.
